Instructions

Learners work in expert groups and do research on a sub-task of a specific topic or question dealing with civic participation and integration (e.g. exploring the public services of City hall). Each expert group explores a subtask of the main question and makes a visual poster about their findings. The posters are used to make a poster-expo (hang the poster around the room, corridor, etc.).

Using the Jigsaw-method the expert groups are divided into new groups (each group consists of at least one expert from the original expert group). The new groups go and explore all the different posters from the poster-expo. The expert that took part in making the poster explains the findings during the gallery walk.

Variant

Instead of making a physical poster-expo you can use an online app for learners to express their ideas through short video, text and audio. The expert groups share their findings, and the other learners engage with their findings online.
